Purpose of Award: This award seeks to reward a mature family medicine resident that demonstrates exceptional interest and involvement in family medicine and exemplifies a balance of the qualities of a family physician.

Criteria: The recipient of this award should exemplify the following qualities
A. Community service and social awareness
B. Evidence of scholarly inquiry
C. Caring and compassionate patient care
D. Involvement in Academy affairs locally or nationally
E. Balance between personal and professional activities
F. Mature interpersonal and collegial skills

Nominators should recognize that candidates might not exhibit strength in each identified quality.
The resident is expected to recognize the qualities primarily of compassionate patient care and peer relationships. Any resident member in an IAFP Family Medicine Residency Program is eligible for selection.
