Dr. Daniel Armounfelder exemplifies the very best of family medicine — compassionate, community-centered, and deeply committed to serving others. Throughout his residency at Memorial Hospital of South Bend, he has distinguished himself not only through clinical excellence, but through extraordinary dedication to underserved populations and those experiencing homelessness.

As Academic Chief Resident and a leader in Street Medicine South Bend, Daniel has consistently demonstrated the qualities of advocacy, empathy, and service that define outstanding family physicians. His work extends beyond the clinic walls — moderating community discussions on housing and health, supporting low-barrier shelter initiatives, and ensuring that every patient is treated with dignity and respect.

His accomplishments have already been recognized nationally, including receiving the American Academy of Family Physicians’ Excellence in Graduate Medical Education Award. Yet those who know Daniel best speak most highly of his humility, humanity, and unwavering commitment to caring for the most vulnerable members of his community.
